Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Planning & Construction Services, the incumbent is responsible for managing assigned major and/or minor construction projects, including all aspects of project management during development, planning, design, construction, and final close-out.

FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $7,917 per month - $9,167 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,135 per month - $12,288 per month

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eligible for up to one day of telecommuting per week in accordance with department and university guidelines.

Department Information 

Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for the University's master planning, capital planning, design, and capital project management activities. The department oversees the planning, design, and delivery of capital improvement projects that support Sacramento State's academic mission and enhance the campus environment.

Required Qualifications 

1. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience

2. Progressively responsible experience in the area of project management

3. Experience with monitoring project budgets and timelines

4. Experience administering and reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures

5. Strong verbal and written communication skills

6. Proven track record in managing and coordinating contracts

7. Ability to manage and direct contractors/sub-contractors

8. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

9. Valid driver’s license and maintenance of good driving record

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Satisfactory completion of the background check process.

 Preferred Qualifications 

11. Master’s degree from an accredited university

12. Professional Licensed Architect, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer

13. Knowledge of California construction codes and laws, including seismic codes

14. Experience managing major and/or minor construction projects

15. Experience in successfully managing multiple, concurrent projects

16. Knowledge of California Public Works project management

17. Experience managing projects for California State University, State of California, University of California, California Community Colleges, or local governments or special districts in California

Required Licenses/Certifications 

Valid driver's license and maintenance of a good driving record.
