Required qualifications are Masters with a minimum of three (3) years related professional experience. The lecturer pool will remain open until filled and applications received after priority deadlines will be considered on an as-needed basis. |

| The Film Program at Sacramento State University seeks an Assistant Professor who specializes in contemporary approaches to narrative and/or documentary filmmaking, with an emphasis on short film storytelling. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching production-centered content in the areas of directing, producing, editing and screenwriting and have a creative practice based in contemporary approaches to production. Candidates must show evidence of exhibition and distribution, having promoted their work in film festivals, online streaming platforms, and/or broadcast. Candidates must be dedicated to teaching in a university that serves a highly diverse student body, be committed to working closely with colleagues in the College of Arts and Letters and be intent on forging collaborative relationships across disciplines and in the community.
It is expected that candidates have earned an MFA or equivalent terminal degree in the arts by August 2025. We seek individuals with a demonstrated ability to work with students from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds.
