    • Position Summary
    • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions (FWS) available in the Stockton Campus.

    • Stanislaus State Stockton Campus is seeking a motivated and dependable Student Assistant to provide general campus support and first-level technology support to students, faculty, and staff. This hybrid role involves a mix of customer service, campus operations assistance, and technical troubleshooting within a dynamic university environment.

    • Start Date
    • Positions available on or after October 6, 2025 and ending on or before May 22, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Campus & Student Support (Facilities & Customer Service):
      • Answer phones, and greet and assist students, staff, faculty, and visitors at the Warrior Welcome Hub (front counter).
      • Monitor hallways, classrooms, and common areas; report any concerns to university officials or Securitas as needed.
      • Assist with classroom and event readiness by reviewing schedules and ensuring space setup and cleanliness.
      • Offer general administrative and logistical support for classes, events, and activities. 
      • Promote a safe, welcoming, and organized campus environment.
      • Technology Support (Client Services / IT Help Desk):
      • Answer the Stockton Campus OIT Help Desk Line and provide basic technology assistance and referrals. Help students with obtaining Warrior ID cards. 
      • Provide tier 1 technical support for computers, printers, and classroom equipment. 
      • Assist with tier 2 support tasks under supervision of professional staff.
      • Use the university’s problem ticketing system to log and track support requests.
      • Act as a liaison between users and IT staff to resolve issues efficiently.
      • Help ensure compliance with computer lab and network use policies
      • Other duties as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications

    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Familiarity with university systems such as Canvas, myStanState, OneDrive, and Teams.
      • Experience supporting classroom technology or working in a help desk/lab assistant role.
      • Ability to remain calm and helpful in high-stress or technical troubleshooting situations.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Demonstrated customer service experience and a positive, helpful attitude.
      • Basic computer skills, including experience with Windows and/or MacOS, Microsoft Office/365, internet browsers, and email.
      • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and explain solutions in a non-technical manner.
      • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
      • Dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing needs.
      • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
    • Salary Range
    • $16.50 per hour.
