Position Summary

Under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director of Development and Corporate Partnerships for Student Affairs, the Corporate Partnership Administrative Trainee provides administrative, organizational, and project coordination support for the Division of Student Affairs' partnership and philanthropic initiatives. This position is designed to develop foundational knowledge of partnership activation, donor stewardship, external engagement, and higher education philanthropy while supporting the successful execution of existing corporate, community, and philanthropic partnerships. The role will work collaboratively with a variety of campus partners including but not limited to: University Advancement, Athletics, Academic Affairs, and External Relations.

The incumbent serves as a central coordination resource for partnership activation by maintaining organized systems that track partnership agreements, sponsorship benefits, activation timelines, event logistics, stewardship activities, and reporting deadlines. Working closely with campus departments and external stakeholders, the Corporate Partnership Administrative Trainee helps ensure partnership commitments are fulfilled accurately, professionally, and on schedule while contributing to positive partner and donor experiences.

Under immediate supervision, the Corporate Partnership Administrative Trainee assists with preparing annual partnership recaps, donor stewardship reports, impact summaries, presentations, and other communications that demonstrate the outcomes of philanthropic investments and partnership engagements. The position also supports meetings, events, recognition activities, and other administrative functions while developing skills in relationship management, project coordination, communication, and organizational effectiveness within the Division of Student Affairs.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime compensation)

Anticipated Hiring Range: The salary rate for this appointment is $4,367 per month. Anticipated starting salary is at the entry of the classification salary range.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,367 per month (Step 1) - $6,362 per month (Step 20)

Salary step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience.

Recruitment Type: Temporary (1-Year Limited Duration. Possibility for an additional 1-year appointment based on funding and performance.)

Time Base: Full-Time 

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm / Summer Hours Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4pm with occasional weekend and evening hours dependent on department need.

Minimum Qualifications 

Familiarity with and understanding of current social, political, economic, and scientific developments and trends; working knowledge of methods and problems of organization, administration, and management; working knowledge of research techniques and simple statistics.
 
Ability to collect and compile a wide variety of standardized data; ability to identify and obtain information from outside resources; ability to reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate procedural recommendations; ability to read comprehensively; ability to participate effectively in conferences and interviews; ability to speak effectively and write in a clear, concise form; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university.

Required Qualifications 

  1. Exceptional organizational and project coordination skills, including the ability to develop and maintain systems for tracking partnership agreements, sponsorship benefits, activation timelines, event logistics, stewardship activities, and reporting deadlines. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  2. Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with an outgoing, positive, and professional demeanor. Ability to establish rapport, communicate effectively, and cultivate meaningful relationships with campus colleagues, corporate and community partners, donors, alumni, volunteers, and other stakeholders while providing exceptional customer service.
  3. Ability to coordinate partnership activation activities by monitoring contractual deliverables, sponsorship benefits, recognition opportunities, event logistics, and fulfillment schedules to ensure commitments are completed accurately, professionally, and on time.
  4. Ability to anticipate project needs, proactively identify upcoming deadlines and action items, and independently follow through to ensure partnership commitments and stewardship activities remain organized and on schedule.
  5. Ability to assist in preparing annual partnership recaps, donor stewardship reports, impact summaries, presentations, and other materials that effectively communicate the outcomes and value of philanthropic investments, sponsorships, and partnership engagements.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and partnership communications for both internal and external audiences.
  7. Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and maintain accurate information from multiple sources while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility for reporting, stewardship, and operational purposes.
  8. Ability to coordinate meetings, recognition events, partnership activations, campus visits, and other engagement activities, including scheduling, logistics, preparation of materials, and post-event follow-up.
  9. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of philanthropy, donor stewardship, partnership activation, sponsorship fulfillment, customer service, and relationship management within a higher education, nonprofit, or public sector environment, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn these functions.
  10. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply university policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and administrative processes related to partnership agreements, stewardship activities, and divisional operations.
  11. Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive donor, partner, and university information.
  12. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  13. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and customer-focused environment while supporting the mission and values of Sacramento State and the Division of Student Affairs.

Work Schedule Requirements:

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and flex time as needed.

Preferred Qualifications 

  1. Experience coordinating multiple projects, events, or partnership activities while maintaining detailed schedules, tracking systems, and organizational processes.
  2. Experience providing exceptional customer service or relationship management in higher education, nonprofit, corporate, hospitality, or other customer-facing environments.
  3. Experience preparing reports, presentations, annual recaps, dashboards, or outcome summaries for leadership or external stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated interest in philanthropy, higher education, corporate partnerships, community engagement, student success, or external relations.
  5. Working knowledge of Sac State Campus
