| The Cadet is a non-sworn officer in a trainee capacity. Incumbents attend a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified academy to develop the minimum qualifications necessary to assume a position as a sworn police officer. Upon successful completion of the required P.O.S.T. training within the required time frame and the discretion of management, the Police Officer Cadet may be appointed to the classification of Police Officer (Class Code 8350) on a probationary basis. |

| The Parking Officer patrols campus parking lots, issuing warnings and citations, patrols campus grounds issuing warnings and citations and impounding bicycles. They direct traffic, provide parking information, and ensures that existing citation issuance devices, such as iPhones, are operating on the latest software version. They continually seek ways to improve and advance UTAPS field technology platforms. As new technology becomes available, they incorporate improvements to platforms that operate in UTAPS. |

We occasionally have the need for part-time lecturers in the RN-BSN, MSN, and School Nurse programs. Of particular interest are in the areas of mental health, school nursing, and community health. Teaching in the School Nursing program can be year-round as courses are also held in summer. |
