Position Summary

To service the needs of the programs and activities of the Department of Kinesiology.

The incumbent of this position is responsible to service the needs of the programs and activities of the Department of Kinesiology.  Duties include preparation, issuance, labeling and record keeping of clothing and towels. This includes maintaining uniforms that are issued for activity classes.  Responsible for supplies and equipment including inventory, preparation of purchase orders and stock received.  Knowledge and experience with elementary physical education instructional equipment and issuance of equipment to faculty/students is required.  In addition, the incumbent is also responsible for the appropriate support in setting up and taking down equipment and completing appropriate equipment repairs for activity classes.  The incumbent maintains all record data pertaining to fines, issuance of locks and lockers, and the maintaining of all locks and lockers.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $2782 per month - $3051 per month

Department Information 

The Department of Kinesiology, through its University and community-based programs, provides a unique blending of physical, mental and emotional/social dimensions of learning. This unique blend provides our students with an opportunity to become responsible and knowledgeable individuals for addressing society's problems and enriching life.

The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with five concentrations( Athletic Administration, Athletic Care, Athletic Coaching Education, Physical Activity and Wellness, and Physical Education Teacher Education), a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with two concentrations (Health Fitness/Strength Conditioning and Clinical Exercise & Rehabilitation), a Master of Science with two concentrations of study (Exercise Science and Movement Studies), and a Personal Trainer/Strength and Conditioning Certificate.

Minimum Qualifications 

Working knowledge of or ability to learn quickly the name and type of athletic equipment and clothes used in physical education classes; ability to compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately; ability to post and keep simple records; ability to sort, maintain and inventory supplies; ability to mend and do simple sewing by hand and machine; ability to work well with others; ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.


Special Qualifications:

Possession of or ability to obtain an American Red Cross First Aid Certificate.

 Required Qualifications 

  1. Basic computer skills, including word and excel
  2. Experience using audio, video, and stereo equipment
  3. Ability to do alterations and mend uniforms
  4. Ability to follow mechanical instructions to assemble equipment (i.e. carts, ball racks, etc.)
  5. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, analytical, and web communication skills. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
  6. Experience with customer service
  7. Knowledge and experience with elementary physical education instructional equipment and issuance of equipment to stakeholders
  8. Experience that confirms the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, problem solving, and decision making.
  9. Ability to independently prioritize, plan, and organize work in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions.
  10. Experience in setting up and taking down equipment and completing appropriate equipment repairs for activity classes. 
  11. Experience maintaining and tracking important record data pertaining to fines, and other pertinent information.
