Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and under the leadership of the Graduate Degree Services Student Support Professional, the Graduate Evaluator the graduate evaluator's primary responsibilities are to provide evaluation services to Sacramento State students.
The responsibilities include evaluation of prospective student transfer coursework for admission, and review of transferable coursework for the graduate student's intended degree plan; review and evaluation of coursework for advancement to candidacy; and final review and evaluation of coursework for the degree. The academic record evaluation will apply all Sac State graduate studies policies, including appropriate catalog year evaluation, assessment of course timeline regulations, repeat/replace rules, and other appropriate considerations. The graduate evaluator will meet with students, in a variety of modalities, to discuss and review evaluations and submission of required documents in partial fulfillment of the graduate degree. This position may also be required to enter transfer coursework into PeopleSoft, handle online course posting, build advancement to candidacy degree plans, and use degree audit to assist with evaluation. The Graduate Evaluator will also assist with verification of international and domestic degrees; review and assessment of university requirements for culminating experience coursework; and enter appropriate information into records system. The Evaluator must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and must be able to effectively communicate remaining degree requirements. The Graduate Evaluator will serve as a resource to appropriate university staff, faculty, and campus community. This position also participates in Hornet Success Welcome, New Student Orientation, Culminating Experience Workshops, Commencement, and other on campus events pertaining to Graduate Studies.

Must be comparable to the Minimum Qualifications, appropriate to the skill level of the position, and would allow an incumbent to satisfactorily perform the Essential Functions of the position.
1. Experience in the analysis and application of academic regulations and procedures related to degree evaluation.
2. Experience related to academic curriculum and degree programs.
3. Ability to perform mathematical computations.
4. Experience with working in project management, building data in complex databases, and managing database operations.
5. Ability to solve complex problems, exercise independent judgment, and convey information to key stakeholders.
6. Experience where attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality are critical components.
7. Ability to use and operate a personal computer, reader/printer, copiers, printers, telephone, typewriter, calculator and fax.
8. Knowledge of communication techniques to clearly convey information in both written and verbal formats
9. Ability to evaluate situations and determine the best solution based on present policies and practices
10. Ability to work with Computer Programs, Systems and Databases.
11. Knowledge of policies related to graduate studies (Title V, CSU, CSUS).
12. Experience with working with the following technological programs/tools: CMS, OnBase, EAB, Cognos.
13. Experience reviewing documents for format requirements.
14. Experience delivering with public presentations.
