Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Strategic Business Resources (ED), and lead work direction of the Sr. Budget Analyst, the Student Affairs Business Resources Coordinator (SABC) works with the ED and staff within the Strategic Business Resources Office to support the functions of the unit which include strategic planning, assessment, workplace wellness, professional development, employee recognition, recruiting, and financial processes. 

The SABC is responsible for providing business resources and administrative coordination for a variety of assigned departments and programs, including many that are funded through grants, and awards with very specific and/or restrictive requirements for the use of funds.   Work also includes providing administrative support for the ED and Student Affairs Business Resources (SABR) office, and assisting staff within the unit with programing, project management, personnel and recruiting processes and scheduling interviews and other meetings. 

The SABC participates as a member of the division’s Strategic Business Resources Team in support of the strategic goals of the Division of Student Affairs and its departments.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

CSU Classification Salary Range: $ 3,681 - $ 6,034 per month 

Hiring Range: Anticipated hiring range is near the minimum of the classification, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Student Affairs Business Operations (SABO) provides personnel, budget, analytics, and other administrative support to the departments within the Division of Student Affairs. Minimum Qualifications 

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Required Qualifications 

Experience:

  1. Experience providing administrative support in a confidential office setting.
  2. Experience providing a broad range of customer service.
  3. Experience working independently as well as part of a team to ensure all matters are in accordance with set policies and procedures  
  4. Experience in the use of computers, common office equipment (fax, copier, printer, multi-line phone, scanner, etc.), and software systems including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and internet browsers
  5. Experience working with diverse populations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  1. Ability to handle multiple work priorities and accountability for own work results.
  2. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide range of policies and procedures related to the program area.
  3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner amidst competing and shifting priorities.
  6. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.

Conditions of Employment:

Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Behavioral Organization or related field
  2. Experience in an academic environment.
  3. Working knowledge of CSU Executive Orders and University policies.
  4. Working knowledge of general Human Resources employment policies, procedures and practices.
  5. Experience using PeopleSoft and other Applicant Tracking Systems (i.e., CMS/HR, PeopleAdmin, etc.).
  6. Experience with recruitment processes and processing personnel transactions.
