The primary function of this position is to provide direct administrative support to the Associate Dean for Student Success in the College. The incumbent also provides support for college scholarships and grants, serves as the college timekeeper, back-up receptionist, and serves in a back-up role for departmental ASCs, providing assistance as necessary with scheduling and enrollment issues.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,440.00 - $5,148.00 per month
Hiring Range: Anticipated hiring range is $3,500.00 - $3,800.00 per month, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training

Work Hours: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
The College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics consists of six departments, three centers and a machine shop, and is comprised of approximately 50 staff, 250 faculty and 3,000 students. Our degree programs, research opportunities, internships and strong student support prepare graduates to achieve lifetime career success, contribute to knowledge and help solve societal problems. Our faculty, students and graduates promote regional progress through professional activity and community collaboration.
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
1. Ability to work independently and manage time so that responsibilities and deadlines are met.
2. Strong written and oral communication skills.
3. Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
4. Demonstrated reliability, good judgment, dependability, and discretion, i.e. confidentiality.
5. Experience using software packages including Microsoft Office and Adobe Software Suites.
6. Knowledge of business math to analyze budgetary data and make accurate projections.
7. Experience managing multiple work unit priorities.
8. Ability to independently evaluate and apply policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
9. Experience with managing office workflows, including managing both paper and electronic documentation.
10. Knowledge of hiring and personnel procedures.
Conditions of Employment

11. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
12. Prior experience with campus applications (e.g., CMS, OnBase, Astra, Cognos, etc.)
