Position Summary

As a direct report to the Associate Dean, Resource & Program Management, the incumbent will support the discipline specific technology needs of the college, departments, faculty and staff. Work will be assigned and guided by the ITC Lead for the college while also having some independent action and initiative.

FLSA: Exempt - This position is covered by health benefits, and is exempt (not eligible for overtime compensation according to the Fair Labor Standards Act).

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,372 - $10,792 per month 

Hiring Range: Anticipated hiring range is typically near the minimum of the classification range, although commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Time Base: Full-Time

Pay Plan:  12 months

Work Hours: Monday - Friday. 8AM - 5PM

Department Information 

The College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (SSIS) provides a curriculum that examines human society in all aspects.

Curriculum focuses on such topics as relationships among individuals and groups, the functioning of the political system and economy, the nature and influence of culture, relationships among nations, and the relation of human society to the natural environment.

Required Qualifications 

1. Demonstrated ability to maintain a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community.
2. Demonstrated history of and commitment to building and maintaining a respectful and professional work environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to function as an Information Technology Consultant at the Career level, including the ability to research and apply technical judgement to both standard and non-standard applications and systems, integrate multiple applications to match user and business process needs, use systems to provide solutions to a wide range of common business problems, and make data-informed decisions in support of business processes.
4. Comprehensive knowledge and experience installing, troubleshooting, and managing Windows and Apple hardware and software in a medium size enterprise environment.
5. Demonstrated ability to work moderately independently on a variety of IT computer systems to provide solutions to common operational and instructional problems.
6. Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage multiple complex tasks, projects and implement workflow solutions under competing deadlines and maintain flexibility during constant shifting priorities.
7. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal communication skills in working with diverse users, interpreting their needs and delivering appropriate IT solutions.
8. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and consult with other IT staff and units to assess user needs and proved appropriate solutions.
9. Demonstrated ability to maintain currency with shifting technologies, especially in a higher education context and apply knowledge to meet department and college needs.
10. Demonstrated ability to serve as a consultative expert on technology uses and applications.
11. Demonstrated ability to analyze operations, procedures, and workflows to develop recommendations for technology solutions to business problems.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications 

12. Knowledge of University infrastructure, policies and procedures.
13. Three years’ experience installing and troubleshooting Windows and Apple operating systems in an Active Directory environment in a medium size enterprise environment of at least 500 computers and multiple servers, preferably within higher education environment.
14. Two years customer-facing technical support experience, preferably within higher education.
15. Experience supporting instructional computer labs and classroom environments.
16. Experience supporting statistical software packages and servers (SPSS, STATA, NVIVO, others).
17. Experience supporting GIS software packages (ArcGIS, QGIS).

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at https://www.csus.edu/clery . 
The ASR contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for Sacramento State for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the Police Service Center located in the University Union.
