Position Summary
Supports a cooperative and collaborative environment working with members of the Operations division and all other Facilities divisions such as Administrative and Customer Services; Facilities Planning & Construction Services; Custodial and Grounds Services; and others as appropriate. Evaluates work in conjunction with the Zone Managers to prioritize tasks, and communicates those priorities to the appropriate staff. Responds to campus emergencies to assesses the situation and establishes a plan to minimize risk to the campus community, damage to campus facilities, and the financial impact to the University. Serves as a customer service liaison to the campus community, and coaches supervisors and staff to aid their professional development. Works with campus students, faculty, and staff, as well as vendors in the completion of assignments; must consider the needs of each in the completion of assignments.
Operations: Evaluates the use of resources and assists shop supervisors with improving efficiencies. Helps define priorities of work and communicates this information to all staff involved. Schedules, assigns, and makes periodic inspections of work completed by Building Trades staff. Monitors work progress and completion using a computerized maintenance management system.
Preferred Qualifications
13. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or Management; or documented experience overseeing trades work that would equate to a Bachelor’s degree.
14. Minimum of two years of experience managing maintenance operations for a large facility or institution.
15. Experience managing a workforce in a union environment.
16. Experience with asbestos mitigation.
Valid drivers license and maintenance of good driving record.

The ASR contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for Sacramento State for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the Police Service Center located in the University Union.
