Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of UTAPS, using a high degree of strong independent judgment, the incumbent is fully responsible for coordinating all visitor and special parking services for the campus community, including approving all requests for visitor parking permits using Visitor Parking through the T2 systems flex and FlexPort applications, create and design special parking arrangement flyers, electronic parking permits and arranging, planning and coordinating special parking services performed by parking enforcement. The incumbent preforms detailed accurate work of a difficult and complex nature in a fast-paced business office.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,352 - $5,639 per month 

Hiring Range: $3,352 - $4,063 per month

Recruitment Type: Temporary and renewable. Reappointment is contingent on funding, work performance, and recommendation of supervisor.

Time BaseFull-Time

Pay Plan 12 month

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Occasional overtime may be required.

Minimum Qualifications 

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.


These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience

Required Qualifications 

1. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with diverse individuals and groups, including making presentations.
2. Ability to use a high level of customer service skills and conflict resolution.
3. Ability to understand problems from a broader perspective as it affects the customer, UTAPS and Sacramento State.
4. Able to anticipate problems and independently develop solutions.
5. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, determine priorities, set deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner.
6. Ability to perform complex analytical and administrative work tasks.
7. Ability to accurately maintain a cash fund and sell parking permits, transit passes, citation payments, event payments, and third-party transactions.
8. Ability to receipt payment through cash, credit card, debit card, check, departmental transfer, services order and invoices.
9. Proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 and Windows and a personal computer in a networked environment.
10. Ability to use a multi-line telephone with voice mail, fax machine, laminator, paper cutter, printer, copier and a two-way radio/cellular phone system.

Preferred Qualifications 

11. Three (3) years or equivalent of progressively responsible administrative support experience.
12. Experience working in a large University or educational institution coordinating services in support of events on campus, including parking arrangements for VIP’s and large-scale events.
13. Experience providing lead work direction to staff.
14. Knowledge of T2 Systems (parking management system), T2 systems Flex Port (online parking portal) and On base.
15. Experience working directly with customers in a busy, diverse and visible environment.
16. A working knowledge of Sacramento State policies and procedures.
