Tenure Track Faculty - Film Production Sacramento
The Film Program at Sacramento State University seeks an Assistant Professor who specializes in contemporary approaches to narrative and/or documentary filmmaking, with an emphasis on short film storytelling. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching production-centered content in the areas of directing, producing, editing and screenwriting and have a creative practice based in contemporary approaches to production. Candidates must show evidence of exhibition and distribution, having promoted their work in film festivals, online streaming platforms, and/or broadcast. Candidates must be dedicated to teaching in a university that serves a highly diverse student body, be committed to working closely with colleagues in the College of Arts and Letters and be intent on forging collaborative relationships across disciplines and in the community. It is expected that candidates have earned an MFA or equivalent terminal degree in the arts by August 2025. We seek individuals with a demonstrated ability to work with students from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, we welcome candidates whose professional work—in the classroom, studio, or in their service to the field—aligns with our Department and University’s commitment to examining systems of privilege and oppression and forming curriculum that resists and counteracts these.
Tenure Track Faculty - Cinema Studies Sacramento
The Film Program at Sacramento State University seeks an Assistant Professor in Cinema Studies. Scholars whose research focuses on one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: narrative film history, indigeneity, migration, diaspora, decolonization, and/or ecology & climate change. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching cinema studies and have a record of scholarly research in film theory. Candidates must show evidence of publication. Candidates must be dedicated to teaching in a university that serves a highly diverse student body, be committed to working closely with colleagues in the College of Arts and Letters and be intent on forging collaborative relationships across disciplines and in the community. It is expected that candidates have earned a PhD, MFA, or equivalent terminal degree in the arts by August 2025. Tenure Track Faculty - Artificial Intelligence Sacramento
Sacramento State, College of Business invites applications for two (2) tenure-track faculty for the Department of Management, Information Systems, and Business Analytics (MISBA) to begin in 2026-2027 academic year. We particularly welcome applicants whose work aligns with one or more of the following complementary areas: (1) Enterprise AI, including the technical integration and functional implementation of AI to drive innovation and efficiency within core business domains such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, operations, etc.; and (2) AI Governance, Risk, and Compliance, focused on the foundational frameworks for AI trust and integrity. This includes developing organizational oversight models, accountability structures, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure the ethical, legal, and responsible deployment of AI systems in regulated environments. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in a business discipline, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with demonstrated expertise in artificial intelligence applications. Applicants with J.D. will be considered for the AI governance, risk, and compliance position. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated teaching, research, and/or industry experience in artificial intelligence applications in business contexts. Expertise in the governance, legal, regulatory, or compliance aspects of AI in business settings is desirable.
